Whether you are looking to improve your employability, considering a career change, or wanting to build your confidence in using data effectively in your current role, this qualification provides a solid foundation in how data is sourced, analysed, communicated and managed securely.

This Level 3 qualification (equivalent to an A Level) is an ideal next step for adults who want to build higher‑level digital skills or progress into data‑related roles or further study. It is mapped to the Data Technician Level 3 apprenticeship standard, ensuring the skills you gain are aligned to meeting employer needs.
Importantly, no prior experience of data roles is needed, as the course is designed to build your knowledge step‑by‑step.
What you will learn
Throughout the course, you will develop an understanding of the full data lifecycle, from sourcing and preparing data through to analysis, visualisation, and secure storage.
You will learn how to:
- Source data effectively.
- Prepare and format data for analysis.
- Analyse data to support decisions.
- Present and communicate data.
- Store, manage and distribute data securely.
- Collaborate and develop professionally
This course is fully funded and suitable for learners who meet the following eligibility criteria:
· Aged 19 plus, residing in West Yorkshire, have the right to live and work in the UK.
· Unemployed OR employed and earning less £25,750.00
· Not in possession of a prior Level 3 qualification in a similar subject
Progression opportunities
On successful completion of the Level 3 Certificate in Data, learners can progress to:
- Entry‑level data or digital roles (such as Data Technician)
- Higher‑level training
- Apprenticeships or further professional development
